Cuong was professional and responsive, and his team is clearly passionate about creating an authentic adventure. Our guide Phu (who was also our translator and mechanic) made the trip incredible—his knowledge, flexibility, and positive energy made all the difference. I rode in a sidecar while my partner rode his own bike, which was the perfect setup for me since I have very little motorcycling experience. Lap drove the support vehicle and greeted us at every stop. We did the 8 Day 8 Night Vietnam northern bike adventure up to the china border the back to Hanoi on the over night train. We were a group of 11 mates. I must say we have done trail bike adventures in different countries but Chong’s adventure group really rates up to be the best iv ever done. From the time we land in Hanoi at the airport to the time we leave Hanoi the team really go out there way to give us the best experience you could possibly imagine. Just had the most epic 10x day tour ride with Phu and his crew riding the high country of Hanoi with 6x of us. They were the most hospitable people I have met and spent time with. From the get go organising our adventure over emails to when we first got to meet the crew in Hanoi was nothing but smooth sailing. We road through some of the most remarkable and remote countryside I’ve ever been through and met some amazing local traditional village Vietnamese people along our tour ride. Cuong met up with us a few days in to our trip and like the rest of his team was a champion of a bloke as well. All 6 of us couldn’t have been happier with the way all the staff treated us and to the many, many different rice, grape, apple wines and many different local traditional food in each town/village we road through and stayed in. These guys know how to entertain and look after the guests. Our 7-day motorbike tour with Cuong’s team, traveling from Hanoi to Lao Cai, was the absolute highlight of our month in Vietnam! But experience I have ever had, from the route to the staff. Ride of your life!
If you’re looking to explore Vietnam, going with Cuong’s on a ride is the BEST way to do it. Phu led me to some amazing views, but of course not without a little challenge. Despite me having no experience on off-roads, he took me to routes that were challenging enough but still well within my limits.
He also made sure everything from food to accom was settled; all I needed to do was get on the bike.. You’d be hard pressed to find a better tour than this. Even if you’re going solo, you’ll have an amazing adventure with plenty of memories to take with you. I’m definitely coming back for another tour!
Great motorcycle ride, from Hanoi nort and west to Ha Giang province
My wife and I did the 8D8N Ha Giang Far North trip (starting Oct 23/2019).
It was a group ride and we had enough people to get a 4 man crew and a support truck for our luggage.
Phú was the lead rider, Tập the mechanic/sweeper rider, Giới driving the truck, and Đức (aka Edward) an informative tour guide).
We had a couple more serious off-road riders, with the rest of us with less experience away from good roads but still up for a bit of a challenge.
The crew did a great job of managing our varying abilities splitting the group when necessary but still taking taking all of us off the main roads and on routes less travelled and more interesting.
Amazing trip to North East Vietnam with Cuong’s team. Great roads, some challenges in the mud, rocks and water, and fantastic support from our guide Phu, who tailored the route to our interests and experience. What a great adventure. Absolutely brilliant fun.
Awesome tour with WONDERFUL guides, mechanics, and staff
I was the sidecar pilot for Paul B and agree with every word of his review. I ride the Ural at home in Dalat and had been wanting to take this tour for a number of years. Paul’s first visit to Vietnam was the perfect opportunity and we took it.
If you want a serene, calm, and uneventful motorbike tour, I suggest you call someone else. If you want a wonderful, exciting, first-time experience, this is the place to go.
I normally HATE tours, yet I enjoyed every bit of this one. You can go at your own pace, stop and take photos or admire the scenery anytime you want, and the crew always makes sure that you’re okay.
Stop dreaming about it and do it!

The bikes were surprisingly good CRF300. The entire team sweep riders and mechanics were awesome, no matter what the trails through at you “No Problem” from Cuong and the guys. The accommodation and food were authentic and great. The gin and tonics waiting for us a the end of the day were pretty good too. The riding was extremely challenging at times but the crew was always there to assist. This particular tour is for experienced riders with dirt skills, however there were easier options if needed. From the moment Cuong personally collected me from my hotel, I felt welcome and looked after. He set me up with quality gear and a perfectly prepared bike, then introduced me to my guide for the trip…..Phu, his nephew. Phu is an absolutely outstanding guide. His English is perfect, his humour is brilliant, and he’s incredibly attentive to your needs throughout the journey. What impressed me most was how he quietly assessed my riding ability right at the start, bringing me to a few small “tester” spots without making it obvious. Based on that, he crafted a route that suited me perfectly. And what a route it was. We hit real off-road terrain: mud, gravel, river crossings, dust, goat tracks, narrow paths, single track, rock gardens, and mountain climbs and descents in all kinds of conditions. It was raw, challenging, and unbelievably fun. Phu constantly shared tips and tricks that helped me handle the terrain more confidently, and he always made sure safety came first. This trip wasn’t just a tour, it was an adventure. If you’re not a confident rider, they’ll absolutely tailor a route to your level, but if you’re looking for proper off-road riding, they can deliver that too.
