Your adventure begins with an 8:00 AM hotel pick-up from your accommodation in Hanoi. Leaving the city behind, we follow scenic roads along the banks of the Red River, passing fertile farmland and stopping to explore several of northern Vietnam's traditional ancient craft villages, where local artisans continue centuries-old trades.
Continuing west, we join sections of the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail, enjoying quiet country roads that wind through rural villages and rolling countryside. After reaching the town of Cam Thuy, the road begins climbing into the limestone mountains and forests of the spectacular Pu Luong Nature Reserve.
As we enter the reserve, the scenery transforms into lush valleys, bamboo forests, and magnificent terraced rice fields scattered with traditional Thai and Muong villages. There are plenty of opportunities to stop for photographs and enjoy the peaceful mountain landscapes before arriving at your accommodation.
This evening you'll stay at either a welcoming local homestay or the beautiful Pu Luong Retreat, where you can relax with panoramic valley views before enjoying a traditional Vietnamese dinner.

After breakfast, we leave Pu Luong, driving through spectacular terraced rice fields and peaceful mountain forests as we descend towards the beautiful Ma River. Along the way we visit a fascinating bamboo chopstick factory, where locally harvested bamboo from the surrounding forests is transformed into chopsticks exported throughout Vietnam and overseas.
Continuing north, we arrive in the picturesque valley of Mai Chau, where we stop for a relaxing coffee and have time to wander through the traditional White Thai village.
From Mai Chau, the road climbs steadily into the mountains towards the Hmong market town of Hang Kia. We enjoy a scenic roadside picnic lunch surrounded by spectacular mountain views before exploring the local Hmong village and learning about the unique culture and traditions of this highland community.
Leaving Hang Kia, we join sections of the historic French Colonial Road No. 6 before turning onto quiet back roads that wind through the hills towards Hoa Binh. The final stretch follows beautiful rural roads back to Hanoi, where we arrive in the late afternoon.
Your Pu Luong & Mai Chau Jeep Adventure concludes as we drop you back at your hotel.
