Northeast Vietnam Border Ride to Ban Gioc waterfall and Ba Be Lake National Park
Take time to explore the Northeast Vietnam border ride take back-roads and tracks along the border with China, stopping for a picnic lunch before heading to Pac Bo and Ho Chi Minh’s cave. Travel on small roads that takes us to the Nang river. There we put the bikes on boats and journey up the river through caves to the Ba Be Lake National Park, this spectacular clear lake surrounded by jungle-covered mountains is great for a swim and is cool in the summer.

All of our guided motorbike tours include an English-speaking guide out front and a mechanic acting as a sweeper in the back. On the road, if you want to stop to take photos, enjoy the scenery, or meet people along the way, no problem. You don’t have to worry about keeping up with the group or missing a turn, you can travel at your own pace. We travel this way to keep the group safe and be there in case anything goes wrong. Northeast border ride along the Vietnam / China border

Our northeast Vietnam tour takes in the largest natural freshwater lake in Vietnam, Ba Be lake, where we can put the bikes on the boat and swim in the cool waters. Another highlight of the northeast is Ban Gioc falls on the Chinese border, the fourth-largest transnational waterfall in the world. With its waterfalls and lakes, the northeast is the perfect place to ride in summer. It takes at least five days for a quick loop around the northeast. We start in Hanoi and make our way north on back roads to That Khe, then take small roads along the border with China to overnight at a home-stay with a Muong family in Quang Uyen. The next day we head back to the border region and have lunch at Ban Gioc waterfall, and down to Cao Bang town, overnight in hotel (single room). After breakfast at the hotel we take the back way to the Nang river where we board a boat with the bikes and cruise down the river and across Ba Be lake to overnight in a local Home-stay, last day we make our way to our garage in Hanoi where we transfer you to your hotel, end of the tour.

Drivers License: We require that you have your home country motorbike licence to join on one of our tours. You must have personal health insurance or Travel insurance that covers Motorbike in Vietnam to cover you in case of accident or illness. To drive a Ural sidecar motorbike on tour you must have a sidecar licence and sidecar driving experience. Passports and Visa You must have a valid passport with 6 months before the expiry date to obtain a Vietnam tourist visa. We can arrange a visa on arrival letter please have (2) 3 x 4cm photos, and bring $USD to pay the visa fee at immigration at the airport, rates vary per country.
